Camilla Parker-Bowles is gearing up to be England’s next Queen Consort, but there’s a lot of things that many people don’t know about Prince Charles’ wife. While Camilla has made plenty of headlines for her controversial affair with Charles during his marriage to Princess Diana, there are plenty of things the public doesn’t know about her witty, outgoing personality and fascinating life.
Here are 5 things to know about Camilla Parker-Bowles:
1. Her First Marriage
Camilla Parker-Bowles has two children from her first marriage to Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles. She has a son named Tom, who is a highly acclaimed food writer and a daughter named Laura, an art curator. She also has five grandchildren. 2. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are related
Here’s an interesting fact that many royal fans from both sides of the pond probably didn’t know: Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are related. They share ancestors dating back to the 17th century. What’s more, they are also both related to the late Princess Diana through shared ancestry dating back to King Charles II.
3. Connected to the Stars
If that weren’t enough, Camilla is also a distant cousin of pop divas Madonna and Celine Dion. All three women are descendants from the same 17th century French carpenter according to French-Canadian historical records. Sadly though, Camilla is yet to meet with Madonna and Celine to talk about their family connections.
4. The Princess of Wales

She is also the patron, president and a member of numerous charities and organizations.
