Former Royal Protection Officer Says Charles Got Back Together with Camilla After Diana Cheated
The latest Netflix season of “The Crown” saw Prince Charles running back to his first love Camilla Parker Bowles when things got tough with his “fairytale” marriage with Diana.
The Prince didn’t only reunite with Camilla, who he dated in his 20s, but he was suspected of having an affair with her. Diana complained about it at the time, claiming to have knowledge of their “adulterous relationship”. Charles later revealed in an interview that he had an affair with Camilla.
However, a former royal protection officer recently came forward with the story that it was the other way around. He said that Diana cheated first in the marriage and Camilla only got in the picture when Charles found out about Diana’s unfaithfulness and was broken up about it.
Allan Peters’ version was so strikingly different from the one known by most people through the years. He explained that Charles started seeing Camilla after he discovered that Diana was having an affair with fellow protection officer Barry Mannakee.
Allan, who worked for Diana for almost a decade, said in a new CNN documentary: “The popular perception is that the Prince of Wales was straying all the way through his marriage — and that is definitely, unequivocally, not the case.
“The first person that strayed was the Princess.
“He went back to see Mrs Parker Bowles after he learned about her affair with Mannakee.”
Another person to echo Allan Peters version of events is royal author Jonathan Dimbleby, who gave a similar account in his biography “Charles”, published in 1994.
Jonathan said that Charles and Camilla rekindled their love in 1986. Protection Officer Barry began working for Diana in 1985 and their affair was rumored to have started that year during a fishing trip at Balmoral.
He was transferred from working at the palace to the Palace Diplomatic Squad, where he tragically died in a road accident, aged 39.

Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer on Wednesday July 29, 1981. The pair famously split in 1992 and finalized their divorce in 1996.
However, following Harry’s birth in September 1984, the couple were reported to be sleeping in separate bedrooms.
By 1986, it was said that the couple’s relationship had gotten so bad that they took separate holidays.
