Everything We Know So Far About the Queen's Platinum JubileeThe Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is going to leave a dent in 2022 with the massive festivities already planned to commemorate the milestone event. Here’s what we know so far, along with the best tips that’ll help you get the most of the celebrations.

How to Get Tickets for the Platinum Jubilee Events

Tickets are currently not yet on sale for 2022’s Trooping the Color, but applications opened in the week starting January 17.

Due to the amount of interest expected for the Jubilee events, tickets will be allocated by a ballot. However, applications must be made in January and February 2022.

If you want to be a part of The Queen’s Birthday Parade, you can enter the ballot through the Army’s website.

Apart from Trooping the Colour, members of the public have a chance to participate in the historic celebrations by getting tickets for other Platinum Jubilee events.

Per the official website for the Platinum Jubilee, another ballot will decide who can attend the Platinum Party at the Palace, with more details set to be released in February.

Ahead of the main Jubilee weekend, which will see an extended four-day bank holiday, some members of the Royal Family will attend a special celebration at the Windsor Horse Show, happening between May 12th and May 15th 2022. Tickets are available to purchase on their website.

What’s Planned for Queen Elizabeth’s Historic Jubilee Celebrations?

Planners and Palace officials are promising that Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee will be a once-in-a-lifetime affair.

While some of the things planned will be fleeting, there will be much more permanent fixtures that will remain even after the celebrations are long gone, for example, the Platinum Jubilee coins, the Platinum Jubilee pudding, and the very best of them all, Her Majesty’s Green Canopy.

According to a statement released on the Queen’s Green Canopy website, the initiative “will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.”

The campaign will likely see the planting of hundreds, if not thousands, of trees as everyone is invited to take part. Every tree planted in honor of the event will be recorded on a digital map created for the campaign.

The Platinum Jubilee weekend will kick off on Thursday June 2 with a service of Thanksgiving, which will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

This will be followed by Trooping the Colour, which will see a display of hundreds of horses and thousands of performers, joined by 1,400 soldiers and around 400 musicians.

On Saturday June 4, the BBC will host a huge Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace. The concert, which will be broadcast on BBC live, will bring together some of the world’s biggest entertainers to celebrate the most significant moments from The Queen’s reign.

On Sunday, June 5, the Jubilee pageant will round out the celebrations in a loud, colorful and fun way with the festival of creativity. This will see performers, dancers, musicians, military personnel, key workers and volunteers unite to tell the story of the Queen’s 70-year reign.

I’m most excited about the Superbloom, which will see the blossoming of millions of beautiful flowers at the Tower of London.
