For the second time, Princess Catherine has hosted a Christmas special that celebrated the season, alongside people who make lives easier and better for others. This year, there was a sweet twist, as the Queen’s life of service was honored.

The concert, which took place last week and will be aired on ITV on Christmas Eve, had some notable people in attendance. These are their stories.

While last year’s “Together At Christmas” service was focused on bringing people together following the pandemic lockdowns, this year’s was dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Like last year, it also shone “a light on people doing selfless and often life-changing things in their communities.” For this reason, the royal couple took to their social media platforms to share about the truly inspirational people who took part in the show.

In a tweet, they added, “it was a pleasure to welcome so many to Westminster Abbey last week, and we wanted to tell you a few of their stories.”

Their first highlight was that of Robbie Fletcher and his dad Jamie, who got an invite to the service because of their inspirational work raising £10,000 for the LOROS Hospice. The money was raised in memory of his late mother.

The following tweet told of the work done by an organization from Birmingham, Sports Key, in providing professional support for “the mental and physical wellbeing of young people” in and around the city.

The final attendees whose meaningful work was highlighted through their IG Post was Hazel Yarlett and her husband. The couple provided a home to a Ukrainian family of seven and “also helped find the children schools and contribute to music and other extra-curricular activities to support them.”

This year’s event was attended by several members of the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their two eldest children, the Countess of Wessex and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
