Kate Middleton and Prince William Celebrate First Christmas As Prince and Princess of Wales
Royal news and updates tease that Prince William and Kate Middleton made their Christmas debut as the Prince and Princess of Wales. King Charles gave the couple their titles following the death of Queen Elizabeth II back in September.
King Charles and Queen Camilla previously announced that they would continue the royal family’s long-standing tradition and host a Christmas celebration at Sandringham, Norfolk.
The royal couple, along with their kids, joined the members of the royal family and attended the service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk. Their attendance marked the first time all five walked to church during the holiday. It’s also the first time most of the family members get together for the traditional royal Christmas outing, which they celebrated separately in the past two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kate wore a green coat, while Princess Charlotte wore red. Meanwhile, Prince William, Prince George, and Prince Louis wore blue coats.
Princess Kate Starts New Tradition
Elsewhere, Princess Kate also started a new royal tradition. The Princes of Wales hosted her second annual Christmas carol concert on December 15 at Westminster Abbey. Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte walked in together. Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla sat in the front row.
During the concert, The Abbey Choir performed traditional carols while Craig David, Samantha Barks of Les Miserables, Alfie Boe, and Melanie C. also performed during the event.
Prince Louis Makes Royal Christmas Debut
Prince Louis also made his Christmas debut when he attended the Christmas morning service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. He wore a navy and black coat and knee-high socks, which were similar to what Prince William wore when he made his first Christmas debut in 1987.
Royal Family Member Defends King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate
Fans know that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made some shocking allegations in their tell-all Netflix docuseries. Prince William, Princess Kate, and King Charles have not released any statement or commented on the docuseries.
But one royal family member has decided to speak up. Sophie Winkleman, the wife of Lord Frederick Windsor, defended the King and the senior royals. During an interview with The Spectator, she expressed her gratitude for knowing the royal family, particularly the senior royals.
“I cherish my growing closeness to the senior members of the royal family who are so hardworking, uncomplaining and brave in the face of relentless and brutal media attention, criticism, lies, undermining and fictional TV programmes – and always so good to me that I’m honoured to know them.”
