King Charles Expected to Do Something Decisive to Get in Front of Prince Harry Drama
Royal Family news reveals that, with his coronation on the proverbial horizon, King Charles III is likely to do “something decisive” to get ahead of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama that has hounded the monarchy for some time. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.
Royal Family News: Nothing Could Rattle Queen Elizabeth II
Royal Family news reveals that, according to Marie Claire, with his coronation around the corner, the King could very well do “something decisive” to put the monarchy out in front of the drama Harry and Meghan have become known for.
Royal expert and author of The King: The Life of King Charles III spilled the tea on Charles, indicating that he may need to take a hint from his mother Queen Elizabeth II (via Ok!). He said, “nothing could rattle the Queen, apparently.”
Queen Elizabeth May Have Treated Harry Similarly to Diana
The royal expert, Christopher Anderson, explained that if the Queen were alive to see the aftermath of her grandson, Prince Harry’s book ‘Spare,’ “she would’ve probably taken some action just as she did with [Princess] Diana.”
Anderson was referring to the moment when Her Majesty — who died in September 2022 — pushed Charles and Diana to get divorced following the Princess’ explosive Panorama interview in November 1995 in which Diana declared, “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
Will King Charles Take Action Like his Mum Did?
Diana agreed to the legal separation in February 1996, and it was finalized by August of the same year. Diana, who had said she didn’t actually want to divorce Charles, despite having already been separated for three years, died tragically the following year in a Paris car crash following a car chase involving paparazzi.
Anderson is of the mind that the King will likely take action in their family matters much as his mother had done when it came to his own relationship with Lady Di. The ideal situation would see Charles smooth things over with his estranged son before his coronation in May.
Prince Harry Likely Already Deals with Aftermath
“So, I think maybe Charles will channel her in terms of this kind of strength, and at some point, do something decisive so he can put it behind him. If he can do that before May, I don’t know. But he’ll have to probably do it at some point,” Anderson said.
He pointed out that Prince Harry was in a “similar situation” with his mother after he started his information war with the Royal Family (per Us Weekly). The flak eventually led to the fight with Prince William and his father’s cheap jokes about not being his father which he wrote about in “Spare.”
