Duchess And Duke Of Sussex Rudely Return Early To United States
The royal family (also known as the Firm) has become famous for following strict rules of protocol. But ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry abandoned their royal family duties to exit the United Kingdom, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex have not felt compelled to obey the Firm’s rules. As a result, Meghan and Harry skipped out on the final Platinum Jubilee events to return early to their mansion in California, reported Page Six.
Queen Elizabeth II and all her royal relatives participated in the final event. And the group representing the Firm united on the Buckingham Palace balcony to view the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. But the gathering noticeably did not include Harry and Meghan.
The Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex boarded a private jet on Sunday before the Platinum Jubilee Pageant began. Together with their one-year-old daughter Lilibet and three-year-old son Archie, Meghan and Harry left for California from Farnborough Airport in England. The pageant that they missed focused on celebrating the 96-year-old queen’s 70 years of service, making it extra special.
Who Stole Royal Family Spotlight In Harry’s And Meghan’s Absence?!
Before Meghan and Harry arrived in the UK, rumors swirled that the duo hoped to steal the spotlight. However, someone else succeeded in capturing all the attention. And credit for that achievement goes to Queen Elizabeth’s great-grandson Prince Louis!
While Harry and Meghan missed the final event of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, cameras captured little Louis enjoying himself. Kate Middleton and Prince William watched their adorably naughty son play and made goofy faces. And the four-year-old also showed off his antics on the Palace balcony during the Trooping the Colour parade. Harry and Meghan did view the Trooping the Colour parade. However, they got banned from the balcony because they stepped down from their royal duties in February 2021.
A spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth offered details on the ban. “After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance … will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen,” said the representative. As a result, Harry and Meghan had to view the event inside the palace from an office. Perhaps that ban contributed to their decision to head home early and skip the final event!
