Meghan Markle Just Enjoyed A Secret Shopping Trip In This Posh California Town
Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry rarely have stepped outside their elegant California mansion since moving there. And with the exception of official trips such as their recent New York voyage, the Duchess of Sussex gets spotted even less often than the Duke of Sussex. But recently, sharp-eyed observers snagged a Meghan sighting!
Find out where Meghan went on her secret shopping trip. And discover who accompanied the Duchess on her royal outing below.
Meghan Markle Heads Out Undercover For Shopping
Even a Duchess occasionally must leave her palace to shop. And while Meghan’s palace consists of a California-style mansion, Markle apparently couldn’t resist a warm day in California to head to the stores. But rather than get snapped by paparazzi and nagged by fans for autographs, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly tried to stay undercover.
And Meghan almost succeeded. But the Daily Mail photographers captured her secret shopping adventure. The Duchess of Sussex chose shops located in the same posh town as her $14.7 million estate: Montecito, California. This upscale community by the sea features stores catering to its A-list celebrity residents.
For instance, Meghan’s neighbors reportedly include Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Lowe, and Ariana Grande. Most of these stars rely on their personal shoppers or assistants to shop for them. But Markle decided to experience the joys of shopping solo. Well, sort of.
Step Inside Duchess of Sussex’s Secret Shopping Trip
Wish you could have spied Meghan on her secret shopping voyage? Offering the next-best thing, observers revealed exactly what Markle wore, where she went, and who accompanied her! Choosing a time when her son Archie, 2, and daughter Lilibet, seven months, napped, the Duchess of Sussex went straight to Pierre LaFond & Co. This chic grocery features rooms upstairs with upscale products such as Mini Rodini onesies, Il Bisonte wallets, and Paul Smith socks.
California casual attire calls for sweatshirts, yoga pants, and sandals or slippers. But Markle opted to shop in Montecito sporting a tan Massimo Dutti wool coat, Tamara Mellon boots, Bottega Veneta clutch, and LeSpecs Air Heart sunglasses. Meghan kept her head warm with a brown beanie and observed California’s COVID-19 pandemic rules with a blue face mask.
Stepping out of her chauffeur-driven car, Markle also headed inside Poppy. This children’s clothing boutique gave the Duchess of Sussex the opportunity to buy stocking stuffers for Archie and Lilibet. And escorted by a bodyguard, Meghan also headed to home furnishings shop Hudson Grace. The Duchess of Sussex’s shopping haul included two bags that went in the back of her car.
Observers noted that Meghan seemed rushed as she shopped. “There was a frantic-ness to her shopping, like she was just itching to get out and be somewhat normal,” shared one eyewitness. “Even if it was for just an hour.” Prince Harry reportedly did not accompany the Duchess of Sussex on her expedition.
