Meghan Markle ‘The Tig’ Searches Explodes in the U.K.
After reports suggested that Meghan Markle may be looking forward to getting back to sharing her ideas again on her blog “The Tig”, searches for the Duchess of Sussex’s blog increased by over a thousand percent.
Meghan started “The Tig”, which she named after her favorite wine Tignanello, in 2014 when she was still starring in the paralegal drama “Suits”. She used the blog to write about travel, good food, lifestyle and issues that concern women.
Interest in Meghan Markle’s Blog Rises after Reports Prove She’s Trademarked the Brand
Google search data shows that online searches for “The Tig” exploded to 1,032% in the U.K. on the 30th of January, following news that lawyers for the 40-year-old Duchess trademarked the blog’s name.
The new finding was published by creative resource “Design Bundles”. The report reveals that online interest for “The Tig” increased almost ten times the average volume a mere hours after files revealing that the blog had been trademarked were made public.
The Duchess of Sussex disabled the blog and her official Instagram page
A spokesperson for Design Bundles commented on the findings: “The interest sparked by the release of recorded trademark files for The Tig is evidence of people’s desire to connect with the Duchess of Sussex. Blogs have proven to be a very engaging way of interacting with exciting personalities, and Meghan is no exception.
The blog’s display and style prove to be a win-win for the lifestyle audience; however, it was shut down prior to the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry. There has been a seismic shift in worldwide interest in the Duchess since she joined and left the Royal family, suggesting she can expect an enormous audience if she does choose to relaunch.”
The Duchess of Sussex disabled the blog and her official Instagram page prior to announcing her engagement to Prince Harry. Some of “The Tig’s” archived pages can still be found online, along with the farewell letter she wrote to announce the discontinuation of the blog.
Royal experts are predicting that the blog could be the next thing that Meghan will get into, after publishing her first children’s book, appearing on popular talk shows and working to produce a children’s animated series for Netflix.
