New Book Says Queen Elizabeth Knew That She Was Running Out Of Time

Royal news and updates tease that an upcoming book shared that Queen Elizabeth knew that she was running out of time. This was part of the excerpt that was released by the Daily Mail from an upcoming book that was written by Gyles Brandreth.

In the book titled Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Brandreth, which is scheduled to be released on December 8, wrote that the late monarch seemed to have known that her time was running out since Reverend Dr. Iain Greenshield visited her at Balmoral the weekend before she passed away.

“The truth is that Her Majesty always knew that her remaining time was limited. She accepted this with all the grace you’d expect,” according to Brandreth.

“‘Her faith was everything to her. She told me she had no regrets,’ said Dr. Greenshields, referring to the last weekend he spent with her at Balmoral,” she added.

In her book, Brandreth wrote about speculations that the late Queen had bone marrow cancer, also called myeloma, which could be the reason behind her weight loss, mobility problems, and tiredness. He added that it’s not surprising that her death was ruled out as due to old age because she’s already over the age of 80, and her doctor has been taking care of her over time.

The late monarch died at the age of 96 last September at Balmoral Castle. Prior to her passing, she was under medical supervision, and her doctors were worried about her health. Her passing followed the death of her husband last June 2021 at the age of 99.

Did Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip Go Weeks Without Seeing Each Other?

The book also claimed that the Queen and Prince Philip could go on weeks without seeing each other. Brandreth added that Queen Elizabeth realized that her husband wanted “not to be fussed over” and to “see out his days in his own way.”

The coupe grew closer once again during the lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic. They spent more time together at Sandringham, Windsor, and Scotland. She wanted to be with the Duke of Edinburgh’s side during his last moments. However, it all happened very fast, and she was unable to make it on time.

The couple had been married for more than seven decades. The late Queen ruled for more than 70 years. She died at the age of 96, while her husband died at the age of 99.
