New Survey Reveals Number of Britons Who Believe Abolishing the Monarchy Would Be Bad
A new research has shown that 4 out of 10 people strongly believe that it won’t be in the best interest of the United Kingdom to abolish the monarchy.
New Research Shows Many More Believe Abolishing the Monarchy Would Be Bad As Opposed To Those Who Think It’s Better
44% of U.K. residents voted that it would be a bad choice to abolish the monarchy in a new survey – twice as many as the 22% who think it would be better.
Gideon Skinner, head of political research at Ipsos, said: “At the moment only a minority of people believe Britain would be better off without the monarchy, and the popularity of the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge remains strong.
“Looking to the future, half of Britons have faith in Prince Charles as a future king and more people view him in a positive light than four years ago.
“However, with the popularity of Prince William not far behind that of the Queen, Britons also wonder whether Prince Charles should step aside in favour of his eldest son.
“But their actions now are still important for the longer-term future of the royal family.”

This is coming after news emerged that Diana had “no regrets” over epic Martin Bashir interview, which was acquired through dubious means.
Royal biographer Tina Brown wrote in her biography of the Royal Family that friends of Diana insisted that the late princess was pleased with the tell-all interview on Panorama.
Brown added: “I don’t subscribe to the now pervasive narrative that Diana was a vulnerable victim of media manipulation, a mere marionette tossed about by malign forces beyond her control.
“While strongly sympathetic to her sons’ pain, I find it offensive to present the canny, resourceful Diana as a woman of no agency, as either a foolish, duped child or the hapless casualty of malevolent muckrakers.”
