Overdressed Prince George Sparks Concerns from Fans at Wimbledon in Scorching HeatAs Royal Family fans tuned in to Wimbledon to catch a match, they saw Prince George in the crowd sitting alongside his mother and father, Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was a hot day, and the future King was wearing a full suit as he watched the men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.

Some royal watchers worried that the youngster should not be subjected to some of the foul language coming from the court, according to the Daily Record. Continue reading and we’ll tell you why the eight-year-old’s attire really got fans concerned.

George Tells Mum ‘It’s Too Hot’

Young Prince George looked dapper in his suit and tie dressed much like his father the Duke of Cambridge. However, in the scorching heat, fans grew concerned that the heat might be too much for the boy who was already overdressed.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Prince George told his parents after they arrived that he was “too hot” in his suit and tie. And he may have been justified as the high temp for the match was 84 degrees Fahrenheit during what is being called a “heat wave” for London.

Front Row Dress Code

Of course, as Royals fans know, Wimbledon has a strict dress code and the Cambridge’s attire was in line with that. Reportedly, since the family was sitting in the front row of the Royal Box at Centre Court, they were required to wear a “suit/jacket and tie,” according to the Wimbledon website.

George, who looks forward to celebrating his ninth birthday on July 22, was seen wiping sweat from his forehead during the match. At one point, his mother the Duchess of Cambridge was seen placing her hand on the boy’s face.

Gone are the Days of Shorts and Knee Socks for George

Despite the heat, the prince reportedly enjoyed the outing, smiling and talking with his parents throughout the match. The high point of the day for royals fans, however, was when the prince got to meet the winner of the match, Novak Djokovic, and hold his trophy, at which point Prince William exclaimed jokingly, “Don’t drop it!”

At Prince George’s age, wearing suits in public is par for the course as a young royal, but assuredly, royals fans will fondly recall the days of shorts and knee socks for the boy. Be sure and stay up to date on all royal Family News and return here often for more news and updates.
