Prince Andrew Received Help from These Controversial Rich Men
Prince Andrew’s ongoing lawsuit is putting the royal in a tight spot financially. In order to gain money to fund his sexual assault lawsuit, he’s had to reach out to a few of his rich pals for help.
The lawsuit alone is already costing him millions of dollars, and Giuffre, who is currently seeking unspecified damages, will likely cost him an additional millions of dollars if she wins the case.
The Duke of York Reportedly Desperate for Cash
A few days after Judge Lewis Kaplan declared that the assault lawsuit will continue, the Queen sensationally stripped Andrew of his military titles and patronages. It’s been reported that the loss of his military titles has put the Duke in “turmoil”.
Andrew’s mounting legal charges, which are already in the millions, will only spiral further regardless of whether the trial goes ahead or a settlement is reached.
“There was first the legal team he assembled in order to deal with the FBI’s request to interview him in the UK, sent courtesy of his former pal Donald Trump as president,” Cawthorne said.
“Then came the civil case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre. It has so far totted up to an estimated £1.5million and counting.”
Ms. Giuffre’s lawyer has made it clear that the now mother of 3 is expecting a “humiliating admission of guilt and an apology”.
This will be a further blow to Andrew who continues to insist that he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre and only wants to clear his name.
“If the trial goes ahead and the jury stands for Ms. Giuffre, the prince would be asked to stump up the compensatory and punitive damages that she is asking for – which, again, would run into further millions,” Cawthorne added.
Over the years, Andrew has lived a billionaire’s lifestyle, relaxing on superyachts and has frequently jetted off to exotic places for his holidays, including St. Tropez.
The Duke of York gets his pensions from the Royal Navy, which amounts to £20,000 a year.
Currently, reports prove that he is no longer receiving his annual £249,000 handout from the Sovereign Grant, meaning that his financing fees could only be coming from the Queen and through his business interests.
The Duke of York “Gifted” Substantial Amount of Money from Pal
The Sun revealed last year that Andrew was gifted £1.5 million from a controversial businessman, Jonathan Rowland, to pay off a loan he had taken out from a private bank.
It is said that the loan helped to shed some light on Prince Andrew’s affluence.
