Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Could Be Eyeing A Return As Part-time Royals
According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “eager” to return to the Royal Family on a part-time basis. This is coming after Prince Harry expressed doubts that he would be attending the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s Surprise Visit to Queen Fuel Speculations Of A Royal Return
Late last month, Meghan Markle was dealt a blow when it was announced that her show “Pearl” has been cancelled by Netflix, following the streaming giant’s wave of cutbacks.
The couple, who are yet to deliver decent content for Spotify and Netflix, were said to be considering a move back to the U.K. The pair are currently based in Montecito, California, with their two young children.
The rumors of the Sussexes returning started when the two met the Queen for a brief period on their way to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games held last month.
It was speculated that Harry and Meghan could make an appearance at the balcony along with the rest of the Royal Family during the Trooping of Colour.
However, the couple’s attendance is yet to be confirmed, though Harry has revealed that he’s trying to make it possible for he and his family to “safely” attend.
Kinsey Schofield, the founder of the royals site ToDiForDaily.com, said to Express.co.uk that the couple are “eager” to return to the U.K. to work as royals in some capacity.
She said: “I think they would be willing to come back and live there for six months. We see that Prince Harry is not willing to give up Frogmore Cottage.”
As for the reason the Sussex couple would want to move back across the pond, the royal writer said: “His life is there, his friends are there and his blood is there. I do think that Harry and Meghan would be eager to go back and to explore that option.”
At the meantime, Kinsey Schofield said that the option to return is not readily available to the Sussexes.
“It’s been hinted that perhaps this is something they plan to pursue after Prince Charles ascends to the throne and I think that that would be too soon, because there’s already a critical tone when it comes to King Charles and I don’t think that this would necessarily improve the criticism.”
