Prince Harry and Meghan Markle To Be Distanced From the Royal Family For the Foreseeable Future
There was a lot of drama surrounding the King’s coronation on May 6, with speculations mounting as to whether Harry and his older brother William would be mending their rift at the coronation. It was also the first time Harry would be in the presence of his family members following the publication of “Spare,” so it was fun to watch how awkward the Duke of Sussex would be at the event.
Anyway, as we saw, he did just fine, and a body language expert even claimed he walked in with his head held high in a defiant manner. Oh well. However, post-Coronation drama has seemed to die down a little, what with the thrilling surprises the Prince and Princess of Wales keep unleashing. But if there was a time for the Sussexes to reconcile with the royal family, this royal family insider claims it’s not now.
Royal Insider Says King Charles Is Open To Mending Rift With Sussexes
While the drama seems to have settled – Harry hasn’t spoken out against his family, so that’s good – reconciliation is still not on the boards, at least according to a source close to the family.
“The opportunity that was there for Harry to sort this out with the king is gone for now,” the insider told the Daily Beast. “Of course, Charles would always welcome a reconciliation with Harry and Meghan, he has made that very clear, and his door is always open in that regard.”
“But now the coronation is done, I think Charles will want to focus on the job of being king, rather than to continue being distracted by Harry and Meghan drama.”
The friend went on to explain that relations will need to change between the brothers if Harry hopes to attend his brother’s coronation, especially as certain things in “Spare” was said to have hurt William.
Per the Beast, William’s friend said: “It’s very clear that William and Kate are now extremely important members of the institution, so their view on Harry, which is basically the further away the better, will have to be taken into account. Put it this way: I don’t think anyone expects Harry to get an invite to William’s coronation.”
