Prince Harry and Meghan to Relocate to NYC to Further the Duchess' Political AmbitionsThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a surprise move to New York. Sources say that the Duchess, who has been politically active since she left the Royal Family, is planning on using the move to support her U.N. ambitions.

The couple currently live in an £11 million mansion located in Montecito, California. The neighborhood is also home to many of Hollywood’s elite, including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and Adele.

The Sussexes Are Reportedly Considering 3000-Mile Relocation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering a move that would drag them across the country in order to position Meghan politically.

Since June 2020, the couple, who share two children together, have lived in their Santa Barbara mansion, located at the heart of Hollywood.

According to Mail+, the Sussexes are still sitting on the idea of renting out a flat in Manhattan. The area is home to the United Nations’ Headquarters, which the pair visited in September 2021 in a rare public appearance.

They also met with U.N.’s Secretary General Antonio Guterres, along with world leaders at the 193-member gathering, which saw the discussion of topics like vaccines, climate change and mental health.

It has been claimed by insiders close to the mom-of-two that she has her eyes set on a political career after quitting acting and the Royal Family.

In 2020, U.S. politicians predicted that the Duchess could be looking forward to entering the world of politics when she voted during the election she called “the most important election of our lifetime”. She became the first senior member of the British Royal Family to cast a vote in a major election.

Shortly after that, she started getting closer to members of the Democratic Party, with former First Lady Michelle Obama at the top of the list. She’s also tried to get closer to Hilary Clinton, the first American female to come out in a presidential bid from one of the two major parties. Sources say that Hilary Clinton was supportive of her move back to America.

Mike Trujillo, a prominent Democratic strategist, then said in February 2021 that she would be dipping more than her toe into politics.

He told The Times: “Once your toe is in the water your whole foot is in and next thing you know you are knee-deep and then you are fully in.”

Meghan Markle’s Recent Political Involvements

The Duchess has been known to “cold call” senators in order to push for paid work leave for all.

“I’m in my car. I’m driving. It says caller ID blocked,” Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., told Politico. “Honestly … I thought it was Sen. Manchin. His calls come in blocked. And she goes, ‘Sen. Capito?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ She said, ‘This is Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.'”

She also wrote an open letter to President Joe Biden to lobby for the inclusion of the bill in his agenda.
