Prince William and Kate Middleton Swim with Sharks in Adventure-filled Caribbean Tour
Despite the controversies surrounding Prince William and Kate’s royal tour, the royals are still keeping calm and carrying on. The royal pair are getting the chance to meet new people and discover amazing locations.
It’s been a fun trip to watch so far, especially with the Duchess of Cambridge serving up so many fashionable treats — some of them in blinding colors! Hello bright pink and yellow, the Duchess of Cambridge called.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Go Deep-Sea Diving
I’m still looking for something that Wills and Kate will be too scared to try. Okay, maybe Kate, we already know William’s a baby in front of giant spiders.
Their Royal Highnesses had the “privilege” to get up close and personal with sea creatures as they took a dip in the barrier reef, the second largest in the entire world.
The action-packed clip, shot by a personal cameraman they hired, showed them leaping into the stunning waters clad in their diving gear before exploring the depths of the sea.
Alongside the video they shared with their fans on social media, they wrote: “Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world.”
William, also showed the couple actually swimming with sharks
William, who is currently championing a prestigious climate change award, addressed the issue of preserving the reef.
“While the effects of climate change are evident, the Government of Belize and communities across the country deserve huge recognition for their efforts to restore this incredible marine environment – with a commitment to protect 30% of it by 2030.
“On Sunday, we were lucky enough to spend time diving at South Water Caye, directly above the spectacular Belize Barrier Reef.
“It was a privilege to see for ourselves the world-leading ocean conservation work being done here.”
The video, which was voiced by William, also showed the couple actually swimming with sharks. But don’t worry, the sharks probably didn’t care for some royal meat (okay, maybe this joke is a little too far, try and ignore it).
Prince William Praises the Work Done by the Locals to Protect Their Reef
The 39-year-old prince also praised the efforts the local people put into preserving their natural resources.
The duke said: “It’s really fantastic to see the underwater environment here in Belize and what wonderful work they’ve been doing to protect the coral and the fish life.
“Belize’s work on marine protection is world-leading, which is crucial when you’re protecting the world’s second-largest barrier reef.
“It’s clear to see that Belizians value their environment, whether it’s the marine environment or the land environment.
“It’s great to see their commitments are going further and further and we should support them and value their efforts to protect.”
