Queen Elizabeth is “Totally Committed” to Hosting a Big Christmas for Her FamilyChristmas at Sandringham is still on baby! The Queen, despite a few setbacks as a result of her health, is determined to end this year surrounded by loved ones. What are we if not defined by the people who love us?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queen was forced to have a small Christmas alone with her husband Prince Philip last year.

This year, after all the royal family has been through with the death of its Patriarch and the devastating things said about them, the Queen wants to find comfort and peace of mind in the presence of those she loves. You can’t argue with that!

Queen Moving Forward with Plans for Traditional Festive Gathering

Her Majesty is said to be committed to entertaining her loved ones at her Norfolk home this coming Christmas, after the big family tradition was skipped last year as a result of the pandemic. Despite her health and her medical team’s advice, the Queen is confident that she will recover in time to host the festive get-together.

On Friday, the Palace gave an update regarding the Monarch’s health, writing: “Following on from their recent advice that The Queen should rest for a few days, Her Majesty’s doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks.

“The doctors have advised that Her Majesty can continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual Audiences, but not to undertake any official visits. Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday, 13th November.”

However, Her Majesty is “firm” about not missing Remembrance Sunday on November 14th.

After the loss of her husband of 73 years in April, Queen Elizabeth is actively planning to get her family together for the holidays. This would be her first Christmas without Prince Philip for many decades.

A Palace insider said: “This year, more than ever, it is incredibly important to Her Majesty to be surrounded by her loved ones.

“The Queen is totally committed to hosting everyone as she hopes to make it back to full health in the coming weeks.

“Her Majesty is resting under doctors’ orders with the intention of being able to fully enjoy the company of her extended family over the holiday period.

“After being forced to cancel a host of engagements, the family get-together will be the perfect tonic.”

Palace aides insist the Queen is in “good spirits” and that the medical team is simply taking “sensible precautions” by advising her to rest following her latest hospital stay.
