Queen Elizabeth to Dramatically Scale Back Platinum Jubilee AppearancesThe Queen, who will be celebrating her 96th birthday in a few days time, is having difficulty standing or walking for long periods of time. This is not as a result of any infirmity but rather an attribute of her advanced age.

For this reason, we will sadly be seeing less of the elderly royal live and more through virtual audiences and appearances, even as she celebrates her iconic 70 years on the throne.

Royal Expert Says Queen will Appear at Limited Jubilee Events Due to Her Frailty

Royal biographer Angela Levin believes the Queen’s appearances at events, hosted to celebrate her milestone 70th year on the throne as Britain’s longest reigning monarch, will be limited due to her age.

Ms. Levin said: “It’s going to be very difficult and I think they will only show her in a few instances, maybe at the service at St Paul’s. That will be very important to her because she is a Christian.

“I don’t think we’ll see her around and about. Maybe she’ll be well enough to sit and watch horses. It won’t be her, everywhere. But if she is there, she will appreciate the fact the public will be wanting to be there and supporting her.”

This is coming after she pulled out from attending this Thursday’s Maundy Day Church Service. It is the first time she’s missed the service in years and the fifth time she’s missed it overall. Prince Charles and Camilla will be filling in for her.

Angela Levin added: “I imagine that the aides are worried that if the public don’t see her, people may think that if she’s not there it’s not worth us going.

I’m sure everyone in the Palace hopes that people will turn up to show their respects and say thank you for an extraordinary reign both in length and in breadth.”

In a rare move, the Queen shared that she feels “very tired and exhausted” since recovering from COVID during a virtual tour of The Royal London Hospital’s 155-bed Covid ward named after her.
