Residents Protest Against the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bunting Because It’s Too Noisy

Residents Protest Against the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Bunting Because It's Too NoisyWell, it wouldn’t be a party if it’s not noisy, now would it? But anyway, some people would prefer it if the Queen was celebrated a little quieter.

Broadway Residents Issue Complaints About Bunting Installed For The Celebrations

Residents in Broadway, Sheerness in Kent are ordering the council to take care of the bunting installed in their street. Citizens living near are complaining that the bunting can get too “loud” when the wind is blowing it around.

Because of this noise, the town will be forced to take down its beautiful red, white, and blue flags for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

According to reports, Sheerness is on track to become the most miserable places in Britain to mark Her Majesty’s milestone 70-year reign. Sadly, there won’t be a splash of color to set the mood ahead of the four-day bank holiday weekend.

Town council chairman Matt Bromley said that the plastic Union flag bunting, which had been hanging across the High Street and Broadway, was taken down due to the complaints.

He explained: “We wanted something different this year so we went for a plastic material. But when the wind blew, it made such a racket residents living above the shops complained.

“Rather than cause a nuisance, we have taken it down and are intending to donate it to the shops so they can use it to decorate their windows.”

The Queen’s upcoming Jubilee is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, with glorious parades, beacon lighting, a historic pageant and performances planned across the four-day weekend.

The icing on the cake is that the Queen has made a couple of appearances in recent times and is set to take part in key events. Since the beginning of this year, the Queen has been scarcely seen in public due to her mobility issues, but it’s good to know that the 96-year-old is not letting that stop her from taken part in celebrations paying tribute to her iconic reign.
