Before becoming a member of the British Royal Family, Meghan Markle had been running a lifestyle and travel blog alongside her acting career. The Tig, inspired by the name of her favorite wine Tignanello, was created in 2014 when she was still starring as Rachel on the paralegal drama “Suits”.
She left the blog and her acting career to become a full-time working senior royal upon her 2018 marriage to husband Prince Harry.
Two years later in early 2020, the couple would announce their departure as senior royals for a life in sunny California. At the time, after getting multi-million dollar deals with steaming and audio giants like Netflix and Spotify, the couple pledged to use the platforms they have been given to make a difference. But perhaps, she will be looking forward to making something new out of something old.
Meghan Markle To Reopen Blog As She Becomes “Less Relevant”
Sources are predicting that Meghan Markle could be looking forward to relaunching her lifestyle blog The Tig, as the Sussexes look forward to rebranding to “legitimate causes” as they grow “less relevant”.
“I think the predicament the Sussexes are in now is to actually paint themselves as progressive, legitimate actors of goodwill,” writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.
“Which is something we’ve seen a very limited amount of since they left the Royal Family. In the same way that Princess Diana did in terms of championing HIV causes and landmines and all of that.”
She concluded: “They haven’t done anything even remotely similar to that.”
Rumors of Meghan Markle restarting her blog The Tig has been coming and going for as far back as 2021, with some reports saying she once filed to trademark the name.
As an over-40-year-old woman with two kids, it’s been predicted that if The Tig ever kicks off again, she could go into parenting advice, with a side of meditation and wellness.
