Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the royal family in early 2020. They gained massive attention at the time of their departure, in a move termed “Megxit” by the media, and was once again in the public eye when they launched a series of accusations against the royal family during their Oprah sit-down interview.
Apart from the news they generate as a result of their controversies, and, of course, Meghan’s own unique family members, the pair have attended public events where they advocated for a cause close to their hearts.
Royal Expert Claims Duchess Taking Control of Her Image without Harry
Following Meghan’s solo appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, a royal commentator said that Meghan seems to be venturing out into the public eye more and more without Harry by her side.
When announcing their projects for Netflix, the pair stated that they’re both independent people and would be handling their projects independently.
Meghan is currently working on an animation series based on a young girl who finds inspiration from influential women throughout history.
Harry, on the other hand, is working on a documentary that will explore the behind-the-scenes of the Invictus Games, featuring the stories of the wounded veterans who participate in the sporting event.
In an article for News.com.au, Daniela Elser opined that Meghan is now exclusively taking control of her image.
Writing for the media outlet, Ms. Elser said: “Having been unapologetically upfront about his feelings about the press and life in the spotlight, the thought of melting a tad into the background to focus on his career, family, and looking to the family’s now worldwide famous hens would be quite reasonable.
“However, that doesn’t change the fact that Team Sussex appears to be morphing into Team Meghan.”
The couple’s appearance at the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York, which happened on the evening after Meghan was forced to apologize to the court for forgetting to include crucial evidence, indicated that Meghan is seeking more control, as they were greeted with a sign that listed Meghan’s name and title first.
Daniela observed: “Harry appears to be disappearing from view.”
