Royal Family Experts Warn Camilla Parker-Bowles Off 'Awkward' Title ChangeRoyal family experts want Camilla Parker-Bowles to heed their new warning. And their cautions, connected with a possible future title change, could spare Duchess of Cornwall Camilla from an awkward and even insensitive situation.

But will the Duchess listen? Or will Prince Charles’ wife insist on making her own choices, which could turn into a heartbreaking result? Find out what the royal family experts think the Duchess must do below!

Heartbreak Ahead For Camilla Parker-Bowles?

In the wake of 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth’s health care, royal family experts have analyzed the throne’s future. And these specialists predict a serious challenge for Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, reported the Express.

When Queen Elizabeth’s reign ends, Prince Charles will ascend to the throne. But while Charles’ future seems clear, Camilla faces a much more murky and potentially volatile situation. And it could even end in heartbreak both for her husband the Duchess.

The Duchess of Cornwall may face two options upon Charles’ ascension to the throne. First, Camillla, Duchess of Cornwall, could wait before announcing her new royal title. Or second, Charles’ wife could promptly declare herself the Queen.

Camilla Parker-Bowles To Become Princess Or Queen?

Royal family accounts clash about Camilla’s future title. Some experts warn the Duchess of Cornwall that to declare herself Queen too soon after Elizabeth’s passing would appear both “awkward” and “insensitive.” To avoid that potential heartbreak, they want Camilla to wait a “suitable gap.”

But a previous statement from Clarence House seems to have set the stage for a dilemma. Before her 2005 wedding to Prince Charles, Clarence House stated that Camilla would be known as Princess Consort after Prince Charles ascended to the throne. However, the newest reports about the title change hint that the Duchess could change to the Queen title instead.

What’s a Duchess to do? Royal photographer and biographer Ian Lloyd offered his insights. Lloyd pointed out that what Camilla “chooses to call herself… is another matter. [But] the only thing that we have is that statement in 2005 that she would be Princess Consort.”

As a result, the royal biographer and photographer believes that changing Camilla’s title from Duchess to Queen “immediately after the present Queen’s reign has ended would be awkward.” And Ian reflected on the history of such title changes. “I think that previous Queen Consort’s have felt the same, if you succeed immediately after the death of a Queen – it just seems insensitive,” he summed up.

In general, royal family experts agree that for Camilla to avoid criticism, she should wait a full year after Prince Charles ascends to the throne. Only after that 12-month “suitable gap” should the Duchess of Cornwall change her title to “Her Majesty the Queen,” added Lloyd.
