Royal Family News: 14 Staffers Taught Meghan Markle Royal Duties, Book Claims
According to a new biography, Queen Elizabeth helped put together a team of 14 “intelligent and experienced” staffers to teach Meghan Markle what was expected of members of the Royal Family, according to Newsweek.
The new book, Tom Bower’s Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, has received both praise and criticism since it hit shelves in the UK last week. Continue reading and we’ll tell you what it is saying about Meghan Markle and her royal education.
Royal Family News – Bower Dubbed ‘Witchfinder General’ of Biographers
Palace sources have brought a couple of questions under scrutiny. One was a claim that Her Majesty expressed relief that the Duchess of Sussex wouldn’t be present at Prince Phillip’s funeral in April 2021 and the other was a claim that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall joked about the future child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle having a “ginger afro.”
Bower, as Royal watchers know, is known for his sardonic takedowns of those he writes about. Many of these have included politicians. The Daily Mail went so far as to dub the biographer the “Witchfinder General of contemporary biographers.”
Meghan Markle Had a Lot of Help
As for Meghan’s introduction into Royal life in the wake of her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017, Bower described a crew of 14 staffers who helped the Randon Encounters star adjust to the new role. There were reportedly a group of the Queen’s close friends who also offered assistance in the endeavor.
“The Queen” Bower wrote, “persuaded Samantha Cohen to withdraw her resignation, which had been submitted after Geidt was dismissed. The mother of three agreed, as private secretary, to help Meghan through the wedding and beyond.”
Royal Family News – ‘Definitely the Meanest Person’
The royal biographer also shared some unflattering details about the Duchess of Sussex’s entry into the Royal Family according to CheatSheet, mentioning her bad behavior while shooting a television commercial in Canada. After working with her, the director of the commercial reportedly referred to Markle as “the meanest person” he had ever met.
According to Bower, the commercial’s director Jean Malek had posted on Facebook, “She is definitely the meanest person I’ve ever met. Just saying.” According to the book, Meghan had demanded changes in the script, saying, “Seriously, this doesn’t make sense! I’m a brash American and if my name is going to be on something, I’m going to have my say.” Bowers wrote that, even after changes were reluctantly made, Markle was still unhappy.
