Royal Family News: Harry & Meghan Would Intentionally Miss Met Gala Over Royal Family Drama
It appears that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle has finally resolved to lead the private life which they claimed to want from the public —after officially stepping back from official duties as senior Royals and relocating to the U.S.
Report has it that, due to the ongoing drama in the Royal Family— courtesy of Harry’s Tell-All Memoir “Spare,” Harry and Meghan would be skipping this year’s Met Gala which would be taking place five days before King Charles III’s Coronation ceremony.— Per Mirror.
Royal Family News — Harry And Meghan Might Not Make The Guest List.
According to Mirror, the chances of Harry and Meghan making it to the guest list for the upcoming Fundraising event is very slim and this has to do with the current controversy going on in the royal family.
The outlet shared that Jordan James, the CEO of Unlocked PR said, “It certainly wouldn’t come as a major surprise if they were snubbed given their current status within the Royal Family and the ensuing drama.”
James however, didn’t fail to note that if by some way, the Sussexes were invited to the occasion, they might skip it because they intend on maintaining a low profile especially since the event is five days away from the King’s coronation.
“They aren’t likely to attend as they will undoubtedly face scrutiny, no matter how hard they may try to minimize fallout – especially with how close this event is to the Royal Coronation,” said James.
James went on to add, “While the couple isn’t always known for laying low, I think we are beginning to see a shift in how they want to be presented – whether this is truly by choice though we may never know.”
Royal Family News — Harry And Meghan Snubbed By The Royals
Although the Sussexes are yet to be invited to Met Gala 2023, they have received an invitation to the King’s Coronation but it’s not certain if they would be in attendance that day.
It is however reported that Harry has plans of being present at his father’s Coronation but Meghan might stay back. Harry’s presence at the ceremony might be his first step in trying to reconcile with his brother Prince William.
Early this month, Harry and Meghan extended an invitation to King Charles III, Camila, Queen Consort, Prince William, Prince of Wales, and Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, to grace them with their presence at the christening of their daughter Lilibet.
Instead of honoring the invitation, neither King Charles, his wife Camila, Prince William, nor his wife Kate Middleton was seen anywhere near the occasion. They all booted the Sussex family.
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan confirmed to “Entertainment Tonight” that the ceremony was a private one.
The spokesperson said, “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3, by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev. John Taylor.”
According to PEOPLE, the ceremony housed about 20 to 30 guests and, although the Royals didn’t appear at the event, reports has it that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was present at the occasion, including Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, and an undisclosed godmother of Lilibet.
