Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Claims She Was the Ugly Duckling as a Child
Royal Family news reveals that Meghan Markle is claiming she was “the ugly duckling” as a child, never having anyone to sit with at school lunches. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.
Royal Family News: Smart not Pretty?
Royal Family news reveals that, on the duchess’ latest Spotify podcast that hit the air Tuesday, she described that time period as “really hard.” According to Express UK, the Duchess of Sussex called herself “the smart one forever and ever and ever” rather than “the pretty one” at her school Immaculate Heart Girls Catholic School in Los Angeles.
In the new episode of Archetypes, the duchess spoke to fellow actress Mindy Kaling saying that she would fill her lunch periods with meetings and becoming president of clubs instead of worrying about who she did or did not sit with.
Focusing on More Than Popularity
“I never had anyone to sit with at lunch,” she said, adding, “I was always a little bit of a loner and really shy, and didn’t know where I fit in.” She went on to say, “I just became, well, I was like, okay then, I’ll become the president of the multi-cultural club and the president of sophomore class and the president of this … and French club.”
“And by doing that, I had meetings at lunchtime, so I didn’t have to worry about who I would sit with or what I would do because I was always so busy.”
Who Made Who?
Meghan described her frustration at being told “a million times over” that she was lucky that Prince Harry chose her when they got engaged. However, according to TMZ, she corrected the assumption saying that the duke exclaimed, “They got it all wrong!”
“I’m the lucky one because you chose me.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently went on a walkabout and took a cruise on the Rhine River in Dusseldorf to mark a year leading up to Harry’s Invictus Games 2023 set to take place in the German city.
To Judge or Not to Judge
For her part, Kaling said she had always thought Markle was just that one nice hot girl who has her head screwed on right.” In the end, the saying “never judge a book by its cover” seems to apply here.
Meghan and Harry, 37, did a walkabout and also took a cruise on the Rhine in Dusseldorf yesterday to mark a year before his veterans’ Invictus Games 2023 take place in the German city known for its fashion industry and art scene.
