Royal Family News: Sussexes Partner with Human Rights Coalition

Royal Family news reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s humanitarian efforts are being rewarded via the Human First Coalition Partner Organization Award, per Daily Mail. In December 2021, the duke and duchess shared their first official photo which featured their youngster Lillibet in a family holiday card for the charitable organization, Archewell Foundation.

The card was shared that month by the Human Rights Coalition on their Twitter page, writing, “We’re proud to partner with Archewell Foundation and Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Through a generous contribution this holiday season, they’re providing care for families in need in Afghanistan & supporting life-saving efforts we are undertaking daily.”

Archewell Director Holt to Accept Award

Archewell Foundation Executive Director James Holt will be accepting the Partner Organization Award on the Sussex’s behalf at an event next week in New York City. Harry gave a politically charged Keynote speech there last week when the Sussexes visited the city reports Daily Mail.

In that speech, the prince castigated SCOTUS for its decision to essentially overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion rights protections in the United States. Along with the Sussex’s award, Senator Richard Blumenthal will be receiving the Haji Abdul Rauf Service Award for advocating on behalf of Afghan refugees and asylum seekers.

Remembering Holiday Wishes

As part of Sussex’s holiday message last year the Sussex’s chose the Human Rights Coalition as one of a few that they decided to donate to, calling them “honored and protected families,” per Daily Mail. The duke and duchess used the announcement to wish the world “Happy Holidays” for 2021 as well as a chance to share the first image of their newborn daughter Lillibet.

In the announcement they wrote, “This year we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a “Mama and Papa” and Lili made us a family.

“As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.”

The Sussex’s other charitable causes include advocating for family leave, ending hunger, mental health, and addressing climate change, among others. Be sure and stay on top of all Royal Family news and return here often for more news and updates.
