Royal Family news reveals that, according to Marie Claire, the Sussex’s docuseries, Harry & Meghan will arrive on the small screen Thursday, December 8. Anticipated by many and feared by some, the Netflix docuseries could throw a wrench in the gears of the monarchy’s “never complain, never explain” policy.
That mantra has been an unspoken policy of the Royal Family for as long as most who are alive today can remember. It’s a deeply ingrained part of the palace lexicon.
Prince William Has Taken the Gloves Off
The “never complain, never explain” policy has been a deeply rooted policy for the monarchy for a very long time. However, those days may be over, as the Daily Mail is reporting that Prince William is preparing to “push back any wild claims” made in the Sussex’s upcoming Netflix docuseries.
The docuseries is titled simply Harry & Meghan, however, spells something potentially very complex for the Royal Family. Palace insiders are saying that Prince William is ready for a fight in response to any potential claims made by Harry and Meghan. Notably though, is that those claims are still unknown and are likely to remain so until the six-part series drops its first installment on Thursday.
Royal Family to React Quicker to Docuseries Than in the Past
According to The Sunday Express, Prince William will reportedly “no longer sit back as [the Sussexes] make dubious claims about the Royal Family.” Buckingham Palace is “reportedly gearing up to swiftly respond to inaccurate claims.”
A source is saying that the Prince and Princess of Wales’ team “will wait and see what’s in the Netflix series before deciding what to do” but the direction that things are going should be obvious. Notably, the Royal Family has heretofore taken its time in reacting to what the Daily Mail calls “explosive claims from the Sussexes.”
For example, the Palace took two full days to respond to the Oprah Winfrey interview that went down in March 2021. Royal sources are reportedly saying that this docuseries will likely be “Oprah, with more crying.”
King Charles Wearied by ‘Harry & Meghan’
According to sources, Prince William and Kate Middleton were “surprised but not surprised” that the trailer happened to drop in the midst of their three-day US tour this week. Sources also pointed out that King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla are less worried that “wearied” by the Sussex’s actions.
