Royal Family news reveals that, according to 7 News AU, Catherine Ommanney is best known for her appearances on the show The Real Housewives of DC. She now lives in Spain and works as an interior designer.
Ommanney told The Sun that she wanted to dish about the whirlwind romance as she didn’t expect that Prince Harry would mention it in his upcoming book, Spare. “I doubt I will be in Harry’s book, as a prince can’t run off with a 34-year-old mother-of-two, it’s just not the done thing,” she said (per Us Weekly).
Was Prince Harry Cheating?
Ommanney, now 51, called her 2006 tryst with the prince “the time of [her] life,” and said that the kiss she received from the Duke of Sussex was “the most passionate kiss” she had ever received. She also revealed that the two often kissed passionately while on dates together and even posed for a photo together in the bathtub.
Royal fans may recall that Harry, before meeting and marrying Meghan Markle, had a long-term relationship with Chelsy Davy. Ommaney made clear that she wasn’t sure if the prince was “on a break” from that relationship when the two had their fling.
The Age Gap
Ommanney, who met Harry at the Art Bar in the London Suburb of Chelsea in May of 2006, said Prince Harry was accompanied by three Royal Protection Officers when he arrived at the bar.
“We had some mutual friends in the property business, and he introduced himself,” she said of the moment. “Harry was wearing an Australian-style hat that made me laugh, so I asked him, ‘What are you doing looking like a t*** in that?’
“I don’t think he was used to people taking the mickey and once we started talking, it was like there was no one else in the room.” Ommanney was separated from her husband Stephen at the time.
Ommanney said she wasn’t really interested in a relationship with the prince at the time given the 13-year age gap between the two. “He was only 21 so a relationship was the furthest thing from my mind,” she said.
Absolutely Speechless
“But when everyone started leaving at around 11 pm, Harry pointed to one of three Range Rovers parked outside and said, ‘Hop in with me,’ which I found very flattering. We were driven to Eclipse nightclub in South Kensington and whisked downstairs to the VIP area.”
She said they went back to a friend’s place in Chelsea and shared a cigarette. That’s when, according to Ommanney, “he really opened up” to her, telling her of his dreams of living a regular life.
Back inside things got a bit warmer as, she said, “It was then that he lifted me by my waist off the floor and held me against the wall,” she said.
