Royal Family News: ‘Revenge’ Author Targets Prince Harry’s Most Cherished Bond – The Queen
A royal biographer has taken aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s cherished relationship with Queen Elizabeth II. This, just months after the duke claimed he wanted to ensure Her Majesty was “protected.”
The Sussexes have paid tribute to the Monarch more than any other royal even as their bombshell interviews caused a commotion in other areas of the Royal Family. Continue reading and we’ll discuss how royal expert Tom Bower has taken aim at that relationship.
Royal Family News – Was Queen ‘Relieved’ Meghan Missed Phillip’s Funeral?
According to Newsweek, Bower’s book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, which hit shelves on July 21, makes the controversial claim that Her Majesty was relieved when Meghan skipped out on Prince Phillip’s funeral services. Bowers also made the claim, in an interview, that the Queen snubbed the Duke and Duchess at her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Queen’s influence has shadowed Harry and Meghan’s Royal exit right from the get-go. UK Newspapers reportedly suggested that the Sussexes blindsided the Monarch in January 2020. An earlier Omid Scobie book, Finding Freedom, quoted a palace source who said, “The element of surprise, the blindsiding of the Queen, for the other principals (royals) who are all very mindful of this rightfully, it was deeply upsetting.”
Royal Family News – Harry ‘Staggered’ by Omission from Christmas Photos
In his scalding book, Bower attempts to suggest a different version of the Queen’s relationship with the Sussexes. It zeroed in on her response to Harry and Meghan’s actions. The most outstanding of all the claims made in Revenge was one disputed by a senior palace source which claimed that Her Majesty was relieved that Markle didn’t attend Prince Phillip’s funeral, just a month after the Oprah interview.
“Philip had been her rock for the previous 70 years. To comply with COVID restrictions she would grieve alone inside the chapel, Bower wrote. “’Thank goodness Meghan is not coming,’ the monarch said in a clear voice to her trusted aides.”
Also in the book, per Insider, Harry and Meghan were pretty upset that the Queen left them out of the 2019 Christmas photos. More specifically, the book describes that the Duke of Sussex was “staggered” by the omission.
