Royal Family News: Why did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Jet to UK on Commercial Flight?
Royal Family news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently flew to the UK for a work trip. Why did they leave their private jet behind and fly commercial? Read on and we’ll fill you in on the details.
Royal Family News: Long Time, No See for Sussexes
Royal Family news reveals that, according to The Independent, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently flew to the UK for a working trip – the first of its kind since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June. However, according to Hello! Magazine the pair flew commercial! What’s up with that?!
The royal pair are in the UK set to visit several of their favorite charities. They are also scheduled to hop over to Dusseldorf, Germany for the Invictus Games 2023 One Year to Go event.
A Sussex spokesperson confirming their trip last month said, “Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”
It is not expected that Prince Harry and his wife will visit the Queen at Balmoral, Scotland, or, for that matter, any other members of the Royal Family including the Prince of Wales or the Duke of Cambridge.
Their recent trip was taken commercially likely due to the flak they got from critics after it was reported that their chartered flight to the Jubilee would have spewed 60 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, according to Insider.
Markle Talks of Upsetting Royal Dynamic
Harry and Meghan’s UK return comes on the heel of Meghan’s exclusive interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut in which she spoke of the effort necessary for forgiveness and added that she could “say anything.”
The interview was conducted by New York Magazine’s Allison P. Davis. Meghan told Davis that “just by existing” she and her husband were “upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy” after they stepped down as working royals in 2020. Markle also spoke of the Sussex’s home in Montecito, California, Archie’s school, and a possible Meghan Markle return to Instagram.
Who Should Forgive Whom?
Notably, when Meghan was asked if forgiveness between her and the Royal Family was possible, she said, “I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy not to forgive.
“But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything. I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song.”
As royal watchers will recall, the Sussexes have been a sore spot for the Royal Family ever since their bombshell interview with TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey in 2020 which included claims of racism within the Royal Family.
