Royal Family News – Would Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Ruin Royal Christmas?

Royal family News reveals that a royal expert is claiming that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showing up at Sandringham for the Christmas celebrations would “only dampen” the spirits of everyone there. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.

Royal Family News: First Christmas Sans Queen Elizabeth II

Royal Family news reveals, according to MARCA, the Prince and Princess of Wales aren’t expected to travel to Norfolk for the first Christmas and this will be the first missed since Queen Elizabeth II passed away and her son King Charles III took the throne.

Some reports from The Sun suggest that the estranged royal couple backed out of the festivities as early as October 2022. The Mirror reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have indeed received an invite to the shindig, but they turned it down.

No Plans for a UK Christmas

Prince Harry and Meghan Marke now live in Monticello, California and they reportedly have no plans of leaving home for the Christmas holiday. One of the reasons, and probably the most obvious to royal fans, is Harry’s upcoming memoir, Spare.

Royal biographer Angela Levin and longstanding critic of the Sussexes, said on Thursday, November 24 that the couple would be RSVPing “no.” Levin explained, “Harry and Meghan aren’t coming which I think will be a huge relief for the rest of the family.”

She explained that the Royal Family would want it to be a “very positive” day in the wake of the Queen’s death and added that the Sussex’s presence would “dampen” that.

Queen Elizabeth’s Absence Means Less Pressure

Now that the Queen has died, there seems to be less of an overwhelming need to bring every family member together in one place for Christmas – in contrast to how this, likely her final Christmas, would have been, had she still been alive for it.

“The queen’s death means that there won’t be as much pressure to have all of the family together, which is good, because it seems Harry and Meghan won’t be present,” Levin said before suggesting that Harry and Meghan’s upcoming Netflix docuseries could also factor in.

It’s Up to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

“It’s very interesting that they tried, especially Harry, very very hard to get it out for after Christmas,” she said. “It makes me feel that they could very well attack the monarchy again and be very nasty about the king despite the fact that he lost his mother.”

In the end, Levin said, “It’s up to the Sussexes on whether they want their children to know what their father’s family is like.” Be sure and stay up to speed on this and other royally related stories. Return here often for more Royal Family news and updates.
