The Highs and Lows of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Marriage As They Celebrate Their Fifth Anniversary
In 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in what was seen as a historic first for the British Royal Family as they welcomed a woman of color into their fold. At the time, enthusiastic fans paired the couple with the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as the “fab four.”
However, this didn’t take as two years on, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were so discontent with their lives as royals that they resigned from their posts, “fled” to America, and went on to accuse the Royal Family of racism and negligence. Harry has since downplayed the racism claims earlier this year by calling it “unconscious bias.”
So, as they celebrate five years of marriage, in the midst of a controversy – which has sort of become their trademark – how have they been faring? According to rumors, some insiders claimed, at the time, that they wouldn’t last “three” years, but they have lasted “five.” Five down, forever to go?
Prince Harry Escapes From Home Life By Staying At An Exclusive Hotel
Every couple is not the same, and they manage their home life differently. But it seems that Harry and Meghan’s lives is not the same as one would think watching them in public. In front of the cameras, they’re more than happy to smooch, chat, and appear so in love, but outside of that, it would seem that the couple do love giving themselves space. For example, Harry gave us a glimpse into their lives in “Spare,” where he detailed days smoking in the yard of Tyler Perry’s house with Meghan and Archie in bed.
According to recent reports, it doesn’t end there with separate sleeping times or separate bedrooms. Sometimes, Harry needs an alone time so bad that he takes off to an exclusive San Vincente Bungalows, which is a two hour drive from the couple’s Montecito property. He also regularly makes use of the place when visiting LA. In fact, he so frequents the place that he has a room set out just for him.
Another place Harry finds solace is by visiting an uber-exclusive club. “That seems to be his escape place,” a source told The Daily Telegraph of the royal’s time at the super secretive and selective members’ club in West Hollywood, which bans journalists from joining.
They added: “They are really happy together and live this idyllic life in Montecito, which is essentially a giant gated community of multimillionaires. But at the end of the day, they’ve been through a lot and I think they’ve both felt quite ground down by it all. They’re like any married couple, five years in.”
