He was also spotted speaking to members of the local community at Snettisham Memorial Hall in a blue jumper and checked shirt – a rare combo for the royal, but still ridiculously smart on him. This is not the first time a senior member of the Royal Family has visited the area in relation to the terrible flooding, as the late Queen Elizabeth herself visited the Norfolk town 70 years ago to see the full extent of the damage done by the flooding.

The 31 January 1953 disaster killed 307 people, as the heavy floods swept through the east coast. Over 24,000 homes were destroyed and 30,000 people fled their homes to escape the storm, which affected 1,000 miles of the British coastline.
Before William visited the Memorial Hall, where he enjoyed coffee and cake with the local residents, he first attended a service at St. Mary’s Church.

The Prince Of Wales Was Lovely, Very Friendly And Very Engaged

Expressing his equal joy and surprise to see William attend the service, Reverend Dan Tansey told the Eastern Daily Press: “He was lovely, very friendly and very engaged. I think he spoke to everyone there.” He added: “It was a lovely day. It was such an important day for the village, and the Prince was really glad to hear about the village and everything which had happened. He seemed genuinely concerned for the community and for the sorrowful day.”

Prince William reportedly stayed overnight at his country home Anmer Hall, which is just a stone throw away.
