Royal family news and updates tease that Thomas Markle wants to mend bridges with his daughter, Meghan Markle. In an interview with an Australian news outlet, he expressed his desire to have her back in his life.
Despite Meghan’s disapproval, Thomas has given several interviews discussing his daughter. Meanwhile, his other children, Samantha and Thomas, have been highly critical of Meghan. These actions have only served to damage further the already strained relationship between Meghan and her father. Recently, Thomas has recently expressed a desire to mend their fractured relationship.
In an interview with 7News Spotlight, Thomas wants to know how he can fix his relationship with Meghan.
“It’s a huge disappointment and it’s sad every day,” he said.
“I wish that we could sit down and talk. I wish we could work out our differences,” Thomas Markle pleaded.
“Let’s go somewhere and talk. And I’d say, “What’s wrong? How can I fix this?”‘ he continued.
But he also expressed his frustration towards his daughter, especially about denying him his grandchildren. He also added that Meghan didn’t communicate with him when he suffered a stroke last year. He wondered what could possibly move her if she didn’t reach out during that time.
Furthermore, Samantha is doing more damage than good, in terms of re-establishing a connection to her estranged sister. She said during the interview that Meghan would continue to be a waitress if it weren’t for their father.
Meghan and Thomas’ Damaged Relationship
Meghan and her father had a tight bond and she spoke fondly of him before entering the royal family. However, as the date of her wedding approached, some issues arose between them. Thomas began to make some underhanded moves that didn’t sit well with Meghan and Harry, like selling photos to tabloids without Meghan’s approval.
These actions caused some tension in the father-daughter relationship, which has yet to be fully resolved. Meghan felt betrayed when he spoke to the press about her before her wedding. She wrote a letter to his father asking him to stop communicating with the British media. Meghan and her father’s relationship has been strained, and the latter didn’t walk the former down the aisle during her wedding. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to repair their relationship in the future.
