Virginia Roberts Giuffre Praises Judge for Allowing Court Case to Continue
Ms. Giuffre publicly shared her joy following the court’s decision not to throw out her lawsuit. On the other hand, Andrew’s legal team are determined to fight it out to the end.
Virginia Giuffre Promises to Reject Settlement in order to “Expose the Truth”
Virginia Giuffre’s claims against Andrew has been plaguing the Duke since 2015 when she first publicly made the rape allegations.
According to the now mother-of-three, teaching “rich and powerful” men that they’re not above the law is the main reason she came forward with her story.
Taking to Twitter, Virginia said: “I’m pleased with Judge Kaplan’s ruling yesterday that allows my case against Prince Andrew to go forward.
“I’m glad I will have the chance to continue to expose the truth & I am deeply grateful to my extraordinary legal team.”
“Their determination helps me seek justice from those who hurt me and so many others. My goal has always been to show that the rich and powerful are not above the law & must be held accountable.
She concluded by saying that her justice will aid countless others who have survived abuse like her.
Giuffre’s lawyer David Boeis was formerly convinced that Virginia Giuffre is determined to see the case in court and is resolved against settling. According to him, Giuffre wants to set an example that money doesn’t make abuse go away.
However, following the court’s decision to let the court case continue, Boies told The Sun that “settlement is always a possibility”.
Legal experts are predicting that Andrew, 61, could pay Giuffre in excess of £5 million if she is successful. Giuffre is currently suing the Duke for unspecified damages.
Prince Andrew’s Legal Team Vows to Fight Giuffre’s Claims
While several legal experts advised that an out of court settlement is Andrew’s “best worst case scenario”, Andrew’s team is reportedly eager to see the lawsuit down to the bitter end.
They said: “Given the robustness with which Judge Kaplan greeted our arguments, we are unsurprised by the ruling.
“However, it was not a judgement on the merits of Ms Giuffre’s allegations.
“This is a marathon not a sprint and the Duke will continue to defend himself against these claims.”
Several royal experts have also advised the father-of-two to settle out of court in order to prevent the sexual assault case from overshadowing the Queen’s massive Jubilee celebrations.
