What the Royal Family Has Said in Relation to Prince Harry’s Book So Far
Last year, Prince Harry announced that he is working on a memoir that will be an “honest account” of his life’s story. According to a statement released at the time, the Duke is hoping that the book will inspire others who have experienced traumatic events in their lives.
The proceeds will be going to charity, but as of right now, the book’s name and release date are yet to be revealed.
Following the book’s announcement, palace sources said that Harry scrambled to tell his family only moments before the news was made public.
Royal Family’s Reaction to Harry’s Memoir Announcement is Minimal
The royals have had no public acknowledgement of the memoir since its announcement last year. However a palace source claimed that “Harry scrambled to contact his family only when he knew the story was coming out – just moments before it became public.”
Reports also said that senior royals were blindsided by the news.
A source told The Sun that members of the Royal Family fear that Harry, 37, may use his memoir to launch further assaults at the firm.
One said: “The Prince of Wales’s visit has been scheduled for 18 months. The Sussexes would have known that. It may not have been deliberate but it is another example of poor communication.
“Harry has been writing this memoir for a year but his family appear to have been kept in the dark. Harry’s decision to publish a book about the family is unprecedented.”
The source added: “Clearly no fences were mended while he was visiting for the unveiling of Diana’s statue. If anything, relations between Harry and Charles appear to have got worse.”
Topics speculated to be discussed in the book include the trauma of his mother’s tragic accident, his father and Camilla’s affair, Meghan’s short time in the royal household, his growing apart from his family, and his mother’s life and works.
