Royal Family News: Officially Invited but Will They Show?
Royal Family news and updates reveal that, according to Cosmopolitan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to King Charles III’s upcoming coronation — officially. This after a great deal of conjecture about whether they would even be included on the guest list.
However, a representative for the Sussexes released a statement saying, simply, “I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation. An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”
Royal Family Wants Nothing More to do with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
While it is yet unclear whether the Sussexes have decided to attend, there are rumors that they will show up. However, the Daily Mail reports that sources have said that royals have no desire to socialize with Harry and Meghan.
A friend of the Royal family revealed to the outlet that “[The Sussexes] will be given the cold shoulder by very many relatives. One said to me, I hope they’ll be seated in Iceland. Many of the family just want nothing more to do with them. If they have to see them at the Coronation then so be it, but they do not want to socialize with them.”
The report also reveals that the duke and duchess will still be staying at Frogmore Cottage in the event that they do attend the historic occasion. This is in spite of the fact that they’ve been evicted from the property. A rep for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently confirmed the eviction in a statement (via CNN): “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

The Duke and Duchess, who were gifted Frogmore Cottage by the Queen when they got married. The Sun reports that King Charles III is planning to give the modest abode to his brother Prince Andrew whose royal titles were stripped amid following allegations that he was involved in an underage sex abuse scandal, alongside Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke of York is being evicted from his 30-room Royal Lodge.
Although the Sussex’s lease for Frogmore Cottage runs out in March, the couple has apparently been permitted to extend it for a few more months to arrange for their belongings to be shipped to California.
