With the Public’s Attention Waning, The Royal Family Could be Facing a PR Crisis
Royal Family news reveals that, while the British press seems preoccupied with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still celebrating the fact that Spare is at the top of the New York Times best-seller list, reportedly for the sixth week in a row and royal watchers are noticing that The Firm’s work isn’t garnering the attention it once did. Royal Family News: Does Anyone Care About the Royals Anymore?
Royal Family news reveals that according to She Knows, Royal watchers are noting the Royal family’s work isn’t getting the attention it once did and that is a cause for concern. Currently, the Palace is trying to generate excitement for the May 6 coronation of King Charles III, it does seem that the only thing the British public is focused on is whether or not Harry and Meghan will be there.
This is reportedly cause for concern as the Royal family is in what you might call a public relations crisis trying to stay relevant in these modern times. According to what Yahoo’s UK Royal Executive Editor Omid Scobie notes in his column, “The lives and work of the Royal Family just isn’t grabbing the attention of readers and viewers as they once did.”
Kate Middleton’s Fashion Seems Paramount
The only person that is standing out among the Royals is Kate Middleton though the extent of that popularity only reaches as far as her fashion choices. Fans and the press seem particularly interested in the Princess of Wales’s fashion choices.
However, the Palace is reportedly not as concerned since it takes away attention from King Charles and his upcoming coronation. So, instead of capitalizing on Kate Middleton’s popularity, they are left with “a public interest crisis on their hands.”
Prince Edward and Sophie Fall Short
Though Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex have been on tour in the Cayman Islands this past week, they’ve garnered barely a mention in the press. They clearly have not been the attention grabber that Charles may have hoped for since Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals.
As the King’s coronation is looming closer, the palace is reportedly going to have to figure out a PR plan to inspire the UK public to care about what the royals are doing other than discord. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. However, even more concerning is what may happen if they come up with nothing.
